"Fortunately there are some
manufacturers who rise above the frequent "who cares" attitude of too
many others. One such is Summit Products, Inc.
"We have Summit's Body Block (stone/bug
shield) installed on the front of our coach but several problems arose
due to it having been installed such that it could catch on the
pavement under certain circumstances. A call to Albert at the company
explaining the problem led to immediately being invited to stop at the
factory for corrective action.
"Upon stopping at the factory our coach was immediately taken in, the
shield removed and several inches cut off. The shortened material
was then finished off just like new, and updated supports and spacers
installed at no additional cost.
"Let me add that I have been in many factories and places of business
over the years. This one was one of the cleanest and neatest I have
ever observed. The entire attitude seems to be one of putting out
first-class product in a first-class manner."

use plastic cleaner and scratch remover, available at motorcycle

"I was traveling
in the left hand lane down the interstate. A semi was in front of me
and another was to my right. Without warning, the semi in front of me
veered to the right to avoid a fiberglass cargo carrier that had fallen
onto the road. I had no choice but to hit the carrier directly. The
carrier burst into a thousand pieces as my motor coach plowed thru it.
When traffic cleared, I pulled over to inspect the damage. To my
surprise, the only damage was a small scratch at the bottom of the shield.
The coach was untouched and I could continue on my journey. Thanks!"

"I own
a 2000 Mountain Aire Diesel pusher. Recently we had a failure in our Body Block
manufactured by Summit Products, Inc. I contacted Albert at the Summit
factory and he asked me to E-mail photos of the damaged area. I did so
and upon review of these photos Albert agreed to complete a replacement
of the Body Block. I
was unable to travel to the factory in Johnston, Iowa and Albert
suggested that he do the repair at the FMCA convention in Hutchinson,
Kansas. This was agreed upon and Monday was set as the repair date.
Albert contacted me on my cellular phone that morning, and I advised
him I would arrive at Hutchinson at approximately noon. Upon arrival at
11:30 am I called Albert and he set a time of 12:30 pm for the repair.
The repair men arrived as scheduled and completed the repair while we
were at lunch. What a great testament to a good company giving great
service. Again thanks to Albert, Terry and all the folks at Summit
Products."

"I was speaking
with another coach owner while in Tampa Florida. The other owner was
traveling down I-75 when a steel fence post fell off of the truck
traveling in front of them. The post bounced once and then struck the shield on the
front of their coach, leaving a ¾” deep gouge in the
polycarbonate shield. When the police officer arrived and surveyed the
situation, he noted that the passenger, the coach owner’s
granddaughter, was lucky that the coach was fitted with the shield.
Why? He stated that given the way the angle of the 2-1/2”
diameter pipe was impaled in the shield, the pipe would have easily
pierced the fiberglass cap and struck the person in the passenger seat
without the armor. Needless to say, the coach owner promptly purchased
a new shield
to replace the damaged unit."

"A customer was
driving down the interstate one evening at 65 mph when a deer jumped
out and collided with the front of their Monaco coach. The damage to
the coach should have been between $10,000 and $20,000, but
fortunately, the Body Block shield absorbed the impact. The shield did
break, but it saved the customer a great deal of money and time for
repairs. A new shield was ordered and the customer was on his was in a
week."

lumber truck hauling 4x4’s dropped a few boards. We never saw the

was not something we had done before, but she really needed some help.

us how happy he was so we knew we had nothing to fear. The boys were

P.S. Last week while visiting the American Coach service center
in Decatur I was parked next to a guy who had stainless installed by an
outfit in, I think, Lakeland. He said by the time he got back home to
Illinois, it was coming off. He called and was told to go to Home Depot
and buy some caulking and put it back on. Instead, he traded in the
coach and bought an '05 Tradition. He said if he has stainless
installed it definitely will be yours. Hurrah for Summit Products! We
still get compliments everywhere we go." |

"James and Trudell were traveling down US
Highway 81 in their 1 week old coach. Traffic was moving along at 70-80
miles per hour and they were boxed in by several cars and a
semi-tractor rig. When they first saw the 2’ long tire retread
fly at their coach from underneath the rear tires of the semi, they
knew the impact was going to be bad. It was. The sound of the impact
alone was enough to cause the new coach owners to cry. They could not
get off of the highway for several more miles, so they drove along
anticipating the worst. Surprise and relief is what they found when
they inspected the front of their coach. The Body
Block shield took the brunt of the impact and distributed it over
such a wide area that the only sign of damage was a black rubber smudge
mark. A little spit and a rub with James’ thumb and the mark was
gone. They now tell all of their friends, don’t waste your money
on the film, get the real protection from Summit Products. " |
